It's an excuse. On both sides. Everybody grieves, Ray-san. Everybody hurts. We weren't special because that hurt happened to make us stronger. We weren't anymore predisposed to letting that hurt consume us. For any person... If all you do is wallow in your own feelings and think of your own hurt without allowing yourself to see outside of it, you'll never grow past it.

My brother is blinded by his own pain, and what he perceives to be mine. [ the. the world's, really, but this is a bit too much to deal with. ] He's not so far gone that he can't be brought back from it, but he's refusing to move past it on his own.
